2008 Mac Pro 3.1 SATA 2 OK?

I've been asked about adding an additional drive to a Mac Pro.
Should be straightforward I know but when I did a quick online check some articles were only mentioning SATA 1 or 3.
No mention of SATA 2.

Any reason compatibility wise?

Although I've not fitted an SSD to my same model of Mac Pro, I think its fine with with any level of SATA. Its more the fact that it won't be able to make use of the advantages of SATA 3 drive, so its more down to whether you see the benefit of it being more futureproof if you move to another machine.
