Recently set up a new 2008 based print server with about 35 various printers, all HP and where available I used the printer specific driver.
However we are getting quite a few issues with jobs failing to print and getting stuck in queues, with resetting the Print Spooler usually the only solution.
It's not a local PC issue as the same happens when I print direct from the print server itself.
Would I be better off just using the HP Universal pcl driver on as many printers as it is compatible with?
Where I have tried this it does seem to alleviate most of the problems.
Most are standard A4 mono lasers with 2 trays.
We also still have some users on the older 2003 print server. Is there also the possibility the two are causing the issues when they are both printing to the same physical printers?
