Crysis seems to be the first game released this year that seriously challenges any of the current gen graphics cards, as it cannot be played maxed out at high resolutions.
Will this trend continue with 2008's releases? Or is Crysis just a one off?
It's almost like Nvidia and ATI are playing catch up with no hardware available to meet the power requirements of these near photo realistic masterpieces!
Your thoughts please!
It's quite alarming to think even when nvidias 9 series come out next year, they won't be able to play Crysis at 1920x1080/max settings with a decent frame rate!

Does anyone know if the D9P 9 series (midrange) released in June will be exactly twice as fast as a 8800GT or is this just the high end version? (D9E)
Wonder how well Spore and GTA4 will perform too when they are released!
All the old grand theft auto games always seemed well optimised and played smoothly on mid range systems.
