2009 24" iMac VS current macbook screen brightness

So I currently have the 2009 24" iMac, Ive had it since about 2010, I am thinking of getting a 13" retina macbook pro to work along side it, but I wanted to ask if someone has access to both?

Reason being, the iMacs screen is just way too bright for using it at night, even at the lowest setting and I would like to use the Macbook at night but I don't want it if its too bright like the iMac.

So does anyone have both to compare or know about the brightness difference?

MacBooks have brightness controls so you can reduce the screen brightness, although not sure if that is what you meant by "lowest settings". I can't confirm either, only assume the MBP will be less heavy on the eyes due to its smaller size.

Install f.lux, much easier on the eyes.
