Hi all.

Added my new HDD this evening.

First IDE channel is my Western Digital Drive with my OS on.

Second IDE channel is my Seagate 200GB backup/storage drive - the new one.

Both are set up as master and show up fine in the BIOS.

The new one dosen't show up in My Computer however, so I guess it needs formatting.

I've gone into Administrive Tools and found the drive, but its saying it's only 31.49GB, and if I format it, it will give me 31.49GB of space...

Bit confused..

Any help appreciated.

Do you have XP SP2 installed? If not then I'd suggest installing that. There used to be a 32gb 'clip' on some drives due to motherboards not being able to handle any more space than that so you might want to check that as well.

OK since you have SP2 installed then I suppose it comes down to the drive and the clip or possibly the cable(I have a dim recollection of 80 pin IDE cables being needed compared with the older 40 pin) so you might be best to try a different cable if you haven't already.
