Hullo there,

I took delivery of a couple of Homeplug adaptors today, to replace the mostly unused wireless functionality here at home with something more reliable.

All was well until I started to move data around the network.

Upon doing so one, or both, of the adaptors lose the data stream, or their power light goes off, and one even seemed to switch itself completely off.

What's going on here?

Equipment is my PC (Q6600, Win 7) > D-Link DIR-655 router > Homeplug------Homeplug > Windows XP machine.

What brand are they? I had some PC-Line 85Mbps ones that failed under load - I think they were overheating, had to switch off and on to reset them. I replaced them with a Devolo 200Mbps set and has been flawless - have not had to reset them in the six months I've had them.

+1 for the Devolo's AV200 So stable you can put a horse in them!

Had the netgear HDXB versions before and they couldn;t even handle HD streaming (1080p) so they were replaced quicksharp with the speed of ten tall Indians!
