2011 iMac - Seagate HD Recall

Apple has issued a recall on iMac's sold between May - July 2011 using Seagate Hardrives.

Use this link and enter your serial to see if your iMac is affected:

http://www.apple.com/support/imac-harddrive/

Apple will replace affected hard drives until July 2012. So anyone who just bought a new iMac should probably check and get booked into an Apple store.

well, my mac was bought in june and has a 1tb seagate drive but apparently is not affected

Seagate? *spits* My Time Machine backup was on a Seagate that destroyed itself. I took out swift and furious vengeance on it with a hammer.

Good to see Apple on the ball and doing a recall.
