Hey guys and gals,

So I think it was Jan 2014 and I had gfx issues with my Macbook. It's the issues everyone was having and twice I had the Logic board replaced. It was just coming out of warranty and I asked "look if this happens again out of warranty I'm going to be really angry with you guys" and they said that they would take care of me with a problem like this.

Ever since the last replacement my Macbook runs hot. 70 - 80c hot. It runs sluggish with flash video and I have been using it less and less.

I take it with me on weekends when visiting my gf and this weekend I noticed the touchpad was pushed out. I assumed it had something under it as I couldn't get it to click. I look at the bottom of the macbook and it doesn't seem very flat. I took the bottom off and the battery is absolutely bulging out.

I'm going to contact apple about this but wanted to know if anyone had any experience with out of warranty products and what the support was like. I don't feel like I should be paying anything to have this fixed as it was £1,700 (that's with student discount) and it should last longer than 2 years without any problems.

Just needed to vent really. I just got a new job which requires training in London for 5 weeks and really could do with a device to keep me happy in the evenings and weekends.

Just be calm when you explain the situation, and state that it's unacceptable that a machine that cost that much has failed repeatedly within a short space of time. They'll help you out.

lol.

Well I went to my nearest Apple fixer shop thing and they took out the battery for me. £120 it's going to cost to replace so I would rather fit one myself. I can't seem to be able to call Apple as I don't have support cover. Surely I should be able to contact them somehow?

Dodgy Macs are the norm. I get broken boards, hard disks, graphics cards causing stripes on the screen and the same bulging batteries. I have no idea why as a company we buy them as they are so unreliable.
