Is this fubar?
I’m assuming the battery is underneath and has expanded.
Has anyone replaced one?

Replaced literally hundreds of these, they are super easy to do. Screws for the bottom case and then 2 screws for the battery. You'll need a tri lobe screw driver which can be had for pennies online. You will have to go 3rd party though, these are deemed vintage/Obsolete by Apple so they wont have parts.

Thanks gents. I wondered why the trackpad wasn’t clicking the last time I used it. I’ve removed the battery for now - everything has popped back into place with no damage.
