2011 Panasonic UK Plasma Range Announced

Sorry its taken a while but i have been busy today the best way to discribe the 50hz bug is if a camera fast panns on a solid colour ie football pitch the colour breaks up and there is no gradiation of colours it also happens quite badly on faces when some ones walking off screen or the camera panns quicky acress them,it affects all 50hz inputs ie freeveiw, sky Hd and Sd,it doesnt affect bluray. As i have said it is there with ALL 2010 panny plasmas so if you dont see it dont go looking for it because it will P**S you off once you find it

I'll buy the 65", if the performance can better my Kuro :)

I believe they do from the AVForums review (overall) - although blacks are marginally better on the Kuro (I have 5090 also , best tv/monitor Ive ever had)

I stupidly read the review of the new Panasonic 85" Professional plasma..........seriously want!!! (but not for the £45k asking price lol)

My god that 85" would be first on my list if I find a winning lottery ticket! :D

Thanks for the links.

These are their comments from the newsletter sent yesterday:

Both Steve and I have had the opportunity to get an initial hands-on look at the Plasma and LED LCD screens. In terms of picture quality I don't want to make any definitive comments at this stage, but they do look promising and the GT30 and VT30 were displaying some serious black levels. It was impossible to check for the 50Hz issue or floating blacks as each screen on display was a hand built pre-production unit. This obviously didn't give us the chance to test or check for the issues.
Those types of issues will be explored in more detail when we get production samples to review. But what we have seen so far is encouraging and we have been impressed.

The last thing to mention is the calibration controls which take a serious step up in terms of what is offered. The first is a full 3D Colour management system which is long overdue. Second is the fact that the menus are correctly placed for calibration, i.e. they don't cover the measurement area of the screen. But the big final improvement is that fact that using CalMAN 4.2 and an Ethernet connection we have full one press calibration control with 10 point Greyscale and gamma correction. Dealers are being trained and sold the kit to do these calibrations by Panasonic who really are taking the whole calibration thing very seriously! Well done and we will be fully road testing these features when we get the review sets.

they all come in at diffrent times but the average is around 1000hrs

I'd say ours has been on for more than that since having it (had it approx 21 months), I'm not AV 'o' phile so good chance I've just not noticed :p

Still looks as good as it did when we got it to me.

Still trying to find a decent price on the TX-P42VT30. Pre orders from early stockers appear to be around £1700 which is about £100 more than i wanted to pay. Especially considering last years TX-P42VT20 can be had for £1,179.
