2012/2013 Player Injuries Discussion/updates

Supposedly it's a problem with his knee cartilage so hopefully (I have no idea, I'm just guessing) it's not linked to his ACL injury.

it could be journo's spreading **** - but one article (I think it was the Independant, but Ive read a few in the last 15 mins) actually mentioned that it could easily be a lot longer because its the same knee he had the ACL operation on.

We have a couple of England U18's that should play tomorrow - Wootton and Keane, havent heard much about either (Keane is mentioned a little in regards to junior games, but his brother being a striker seems to get most of the press of the family lol - even though he is out injured currently). hmm Wootton is actually on our EPL squad list (just turned 21), Keane doesnt appear to be though (just fyi) going from the BBC squad info

I think MU should be fine because they have Rio and Evans (assuming the latter doesn't get a retrospective ban for his horror challenge on Shelvey ;)), by the time one of those gets injured/suspended Smalling should be back.

There are reports that Valencia came out of training yesterday wearing a protective boot on the foot that Glen Johnson "never touched", only the daily fail so far......

With vidic out Chelsea have got to fancy their chances against ManU especially with the pace of the new younsters up against the dinosaur and evans. Will be some more fun if ferdinand cannot remain fit like he is rumoured.

Thankfully it looks like Agger's knee injury isn't very serious and he could be fit for the weekends match - he's only got a badly bruised knee, not ligament damage as Rodgers feared.

Martin Kelly though has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and will require anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction which I'd imagine will keep him out for the rest of the season at the very least.

Does this mean welbeck on the wing :(

I'd rather have Buttner on the wing tbh.

do you want to risk both left back's in the same game (fine if its necessary in EPL / CL then fair enough - but forget about it for tonight's match)

Give Buttner the start, rest Evra, and play anyone else on the wing (even out of position - Anderson?)

Should hopefully have Smalling back by then, but even so would make for a good game with decent keepers but shaky defences against two pretty decent strike forces.

Wilshere played an hour today for the U21s but it seems like they're planning on taking it slow with him, quite rightly, so he's unlikely to be involved with the first team until the end of October. QPR away or Reading away seem most likely.

Daniel Sturridge is still suffering a hamstring injury and now will not be available until after international break.

Kaboul is out till December the physio room says, I thought he would be back soon :(
Parker no return date but I think AVB said 2 weeks about 2 weeks ago, would be good to rest Sandro in the sup games.
Livermore I like him, hes a spurs lad....he just isnt good enough at the moment, can see him doing a Parker and getting better with age.

Frank Lampard (injured), Ryan Bertrand (ill) and both will miss England's World Cup qualifier with San Marino tomorrow night.

Borini out with a broken foot. Can't say he'll be missed much by me. Roll on January. 2 new strikers please.
