This has just shown up on CPW's inventory along with numerous other bit of info such as pics taken with a device codenamed i9260 which points to a refreshed Galaxy Nexus, Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2.

As most of us already know rumour has it there will be multiple Nexus phone's from upto 5 manufacturers.

One rumour is for an LG Optimus Nexus sporting:

The LG-manufactured Nexus device is highly likely to be built on the basis of the Optimus G: the aforementioned Snapdragon S4 Pro that has four 1.5GHz Krait CPU cores and a Adreno 320 graphics solution, 2GB of RAM, a 4.7-inch True HD IPS+ screen with a 720p resolution, 32GB of storage space and either a 13-megapixel or 8-megapixel main camera, depending on the market

This thread is for all news on the upcoming Nexus(s), all in a neat place of its own :)

I hope the Samsung rumours are unfounded, I don't like the idea of Google giving the Nexus to Samsung 3 times in a row.

Would love to see a Sony Nexus device, how about everyone else?

Having hardly touched my phone since getting a Nexus 7, I'd like to see something powerful and running the latest version of Android... but without a massive screen. Something HTC One S sized but with market leading power (meaning it will last a good couple of years, easy).

I'd be happy with an updated Galaxy Nexus as I loved it's design. Needs an sd-slot and better camera for me to be interested though.

Want list is an

A15/KRAIT based SoC,
awesome camera, 2GB Ram,
2100mah+ battery,
great build and design...

a good notification LED, all black monolith front (so buttons or logos)...and it all be ready for late NOV! :D

Has anyone genuinely hit the 1GB memory limit on Android? I swear 1GB is plenty until apps actually get very complex. Especially if you don't play graphically intensive games.

From the NoteII thread:

Really starting to appreciate the 2Gb. Played Riptide and my web pages and email were still in RAM. Very nice!

It's merely a want...not a need. Having a load of web tabs open and coming back to them without reloading is a major plus.

*drool* at the mockup for LG

For me, I would like to see this:

- S4 dual core (rather have this than quad exynos and quad tegra by a mile!)
- audio to be as good as the S/GS 3 (after getting use to how good the S is, there is no going back for me)
- camera to be as good as the S/X/GS 3 (same as above, won't compromise if the quality is worst)
- battery life to be as good as the S/GS 3
- aluminium uni-body with MAO :p (this feels so good on the S, words can't describe just how good and it is something that you really do appreciate over the plastic phones)
- to look as good as the LG mockup, one S/X or the current GN

Bonus:

- removable battery
- to have a good NLED like the GS 3 or current nexus
- 2GB RAM
- S4 quad

Not too bothered as to who makes it, but it would be kind of nice to see another HTC nexus device due to them being the only ones who will most likely use an aluminium uni-body and plus the nexus one was so damn good!

hehe, same for me as well, although I am sure that I could get use to the lovely IPS display of the X :p

Although HTC etc. could still use SAMOLED for the nexus phone could they not? (although chances are they most likely would use the IPS display instead) They have used it on their other phones.

For me its the following

Screen: 720p - 4.3-4.7" - Super LCD2/Super Aomled
CPU: S4 plus/ S4 Pro/ Sammy A15's + T604
Ram: 2gb would be really nice for multi-tasking
Memory: 32gb + SD slot or 64gb without a SD slot
Battery: 2300mha+
Camera: Something at least as good as the current gen smartphones if not better
Casing: Something at least as good as the One X, really love how solid it feel, the soft matte finish, Sexy!!
Must have a notification light, the current nexus has that awesome orb style one that looks really good.

Don't think any Nexus will have SD card slot. That's now how Google roll.

If the new Nexus from Samsung or LG are considerably better than the S3 then my S3 is getting sold :p

By better I mean 64GB storage minimum with no weak ass partition for the system/app storage area, bigger battery, better power usage. Miracast type wireless streaming is a given so my requirements for that are fine anyway :p

I'd need SAMOLED in my life so it would almost have to be a Samsung made Nexus for me :p

I love SAMOLED aswell, ever since I got my first SGS, but soemthing like the One X IPS display or the iPhone5 offers really good contrast that I think I could live with.

Then it really needs more then 16gb, that just isn't enough these days and the cloud isn't that great yet.

I'd settle for it being the first mass production A15. I'm keen for them to start using this for mobile devices as a whole really to give us a bit of a jump in power.

Would have to be a fair bit better than the S3 for me to upgrade/ Though I would be tempted, after the nexus 7, anything other than stock JB just seems naff!

A nice new rumour floating about called the Nexus Program.
The LG Optimus G has been cited again as the next Nexus phone and will ship with Android 4.2 as we have all heard before.

However here's the twist : other manufacturers can also apply for the program and offer their best devices but have to adhere to certain requirements set by Google.

Phones will ship with stock android but manufacturer skins can be added by the user via a customisation centre allowing users to switch between stock android and say for example Sense UI.
