2012 - Sixth Form / College Plan

Hi OCUK,

Do you recommend I wait for the next-gen mac books to be released? I am not in dire need of a laptop now and could definitely wait till 2012 till I bought a laptop. I have one more year left before college.

When are the next-gen macs supposed to be released?

Which MacBooks are you interested in?

The new generation MacBook Airs feature both i5 and i7 Intel Processors a Backlit keyboard just like the MacBook Pros and they also have Flash Memory (SSD) Which is much faster than your traditional hard disk (5400RPM in a MBP)

It would probably be worth getting to be honest, laptops are really useful to have for college work. As I seem to have some irrational hatred of Apple products I would say why not get something a little cheaper?

The air and the pro have both been recently updated. The only thing on the horizon as far as I know is Ivy-Bridge.

When you say college, do you mean sixth form? So you're starting year 11 now? Is the further education discount not bigger than the school one?
