2013/14 Pre-season Friendly Thread

I won't lose any sleep if he does, he's had his chances and, quite frankly, he doesn't have the heart for it. That said, if he gets his head down, decides to be the player he's always had the potential to be, I'd keep him.

Nani on form is frightening, I agree he seems to have lost the fight in him though, before the Carragher tackle at Anfield he was on fire.

I watched him at OT a few times last season and the moans and groans around the stadium everytime he lost the ball kind of sums him up for me. Great when he's on it, utter pish when he's not, you can't afford to have players like that in a team going for trophies. (take note Ashley Young)

Good game tonight. 1-1 against nst Norwich. Elliott Bennett was the best player on the pitch, and he got a good reception. Solly March, a young kid for us scored a screamer to equalize!

Hooper looked really unfit, and Van Wolfswinkel looked pretty average tbh... But then, it is only a friendly.

Loads of Norwich fans here(about 1800 at a guess, though I am rubbish at those sorts of guesses) and they were pretty good. Spoke to a few on the bus on the way back and they seem very confident for the season.

That's exactly it. He's naturally our most talented winger, but if he only brings it in 5 games a season I'll take a less talented player who played consistently to the best of his abilities. Pretty much Valencia from his previous seasons with us.

I hope we keep him for one more year just to see what hes like with a new manager and hopefully a style of football that suits him more. As already said, on his day he is immense but he would be brought in for a game after months without anything and then he wouldn't feature again.

I doubt his morale was anything to shout about watching Fergie pick all and sundry above him. Constantly giving players equally as poor twice as much playing time won't have made him too excited to give his all knowing that he probably won't play anyway.

For the price we would get for him I would say it makes sense to keep hold of him and try and help him regain his form. I wouldn't have been happy sitting on the bench while Welbeck is picked every week after having a poor game most weeks.

For all his genius, Fergie did have his favourites. Even more so towards the end of his reign.

Early prediction, Bayern won't win anything this year with Guardiola. They look like a poor mans Barca at the moment. Dortmund are looking strong and I don't reckon they will win the CL again this year.

Given no team has won the CL in it's current format in consecutive seasons, it's pretty much a given.

Didn't watch it but apparently he was immense. His penalty was decent too! RM or Galaxy next... Hope its Galaxy for the sake of US relations.

Ah did some searching. Seems he had surgery

Last year's signing from Crewe Alexandra underwent surgery in the summer and has not been taken on the Tour 2013 presented by Aon. However, the teenager will be aiming to break into the first team unless a decision is taken to accept one of the loan offers reportedly being made for his services.
