2013/14 Pre-season Friendly Thread

Oh come on we didn't really, yeah one of them usually dropped a little deeper but we still had two strikers (if not more) on the pitch a lot.

Note I wasn't saying it was bad, just saying I'm wondering if this is a sign of the formation he wants to play. At the beginning of the tour we didn't have enough attacking players to tell but now we seem to be choosing it.

Just because we have two players called 'strikers' on the pitch doesn't mean they are playing in that position.

Rooney played wide left or behind Van Persie, not as a 'striker'. Rarely did we play 4-4-2, maybe 5 times tops in the premier league.

Most of the time we played 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1.

Moyes isn't playing a different formation to what Fergie was using at all :confused:.
 
There's a huge difference between Rooney wide left and playing a winger there. Both Rooney and Welbeck spent a lot of time up front when they played, wingers won't. Kagawa behind the striker would be a fairly big change for starters!

There isn't really when it's Nani.

Kagawa played more times behind the striker than he did wide left. He drifts all over, anyway.
 
Wow, I know Paddy Crerand is a **** but describing Valencia attending Christian Benitez's funeral as a "one of those daft little things (that affects pre-season)" is beyond stupid.

We just need to give him a run of games. Fergie would give him half a chance then drop him after one bad performance. When he is on song he is a beast.
