Hopefully I'll be at the New Jersey GP if it all goes ahead.

Right what's are the cheapest best tracks to go to. Still haven't seen a live race, found at least one other wanting to go and no stupidly expensive holidays planned.

I suppose the best would be spa?

Depends what you want to do. I've done it 3 times 3 different ways and have friends and family who have done it other ways too.

You can camp at the track, or in an organised site (like CampingF1) away from the track, or stay in a hotel near or within a drive of the track.
You can drive down from the UK, or you can get the Eurostar to Brussels and then another train most of the way, or you can fly to Brussels.

Most of the track has no grandstands, just banks so you can easily do it in a fold up chair. But if you like a lie in and don't fancy sitting in the rain at 7am then there are a few good grandstands.

How would you prefer to do it?

Drunk, loud and meet people.
Sod comfort and add fun
Festival style atmosphere would be good.

So probably on site camp? Where's the oe bbcoften toto after?

I'm going to assume you meant where does the BBC often go.

When I was at CampingF1 we had Jake there on the Saturday night.

CampingF1 is the best organised of the campsites. Its on a hill a few miles from the track and they bus you in and out or you can drive yourself. If you drive you will need a parking pass (best parking for CampingF1, assuming they use the same site, is the Red zone, which brings you in at Stavelot).

The CampingF1 site has a marquee which has a bar and hot food which is actually pretty decent. It has hot showers and toilet blocks and it about as good as you can imagine a camp site in a field to be. The only problem is that if it rains (which it will) then it turns into a mud bath. But hey, getting towed out of a field at 5am by a Landrover is character building ;).

You can bring your own tent or camper van, but they also do pre-erected tents, which we used. We had 2 of the larger ones between 4 of us and I think it worked out at about £80 for 4 nights. It saves you having to lug a tent and airbed etc with you, and also means you don't have to fight to put it up in the rain when you get there.

99% of the people there were Brittish which meant everyone was up for a laugh and banter was flowing. When it wasn't raining and you could whack on a BBQ and chill the views were great.

You can drive yourself, or I think they will pick people up from the nearest train station too if you get the train down.

So yeah, for camping I would suggest CampingF1. Definitely better than the at circuit camp sites, which are just fields with a couple of porta-loo's and filled with German and Finish yobs cutting down trees with chainsaws, playing thrash metal at full volume all night, and setting fire to sofa's and caravans.

Looking at the provisional calendar, Korea is surely a dead GP walking, whole event seems to be a total white elephant in the middle of nowhere. If it's not dumped next year it will be sooner rather than later imo.

Glad to see Singapore stay on for another 5 years though, doesn't produce the greatest races in the world but is a great spectacle.

Went spa this year had an amazing time. We drove from stoke via le shuttle and stayed at the Elephant campsite. Probably do the same next year it was an amazing weekend.

With the bonus of some mental guy name Mario giving you the best fireworks display you will see from the middle of the road in Francochamps. Seriously it was nuts anyone else here, been and seen that guy before lol ?

Spa.

Camp at the circuit with all the Europeans, get drunk with them and you'll have a great time. Who cares about the noise, the atmosphere there is fantastic!

We camped next to 8 Belgians that didn't speak a word of English and drank with them one night, getting by on broken French, beer and hand gestures. The same people seem to go year-in-year-out and know exactly how to party there. Brilliant.

Contrasting that with Skeeter's experience, I'd rather do it that way than the (seemingly) neutered approach, especially if it is almost all Brits. Screw that!

If you love oggling some of the hottest women you'll ever see in your life, Monza is pretty goddamn awesome - both the circuit and the town after the race!

I want to go to either the New Jersey or Austin race next year.

I would be interested to hear what plans you have/are making for the New Jersey GP (flights etc.)

Pending it all goes ahead, my work bonus shall fund a little trip to the states with the New Jersey GP somewhere in the middle. :)

Unless something else comes up I blow the money on. :p

New Jersey might not host a grand prix as scheduled next year, Bernie Ecclestone said on Tuesday.

The F1 chief executive said organisers of the street circuit opposite Manhattan's historic skyline "have not complied with the terms and conditions" of the agreed deal.

"They don't have a contract," Ecclestone told the Guardian.

However, New Jersey appeared as a conditional date on the draft 2013 calendar, which was leaked inside the Singapore paddock last weekend.

That schedule was set to be ratified by the FIA on Friday.

Ecclestone warned: "We are pretty close to the final deadline. We have got a World Council meeting coming up.

"I think if somebody got behind them it could happen in 2013 because they have come a long way with the circuit."
