2013 Le Mans 24 Hours

What was it?

Wanting the underdog to finish well, but looking like Audi are much quicker per lap.

I agree. I'd like to see Toyota to finish well, especially after last years efforts.

I believe it was a gearbox selector sensor that failed.

Toyota think they can go 2 laps longer than the Audi's, this means the Audi's have to go 1.2 seconds per lap faster to match.

But Audi are nearly 4 seconds per lap faster....

Not looking good for Toyota to even get on the podium. They need perfect reliability and a good amount of luck. :(

LMP2 and GTE classes looking mighty close though. :D

Qualifying pace isn't always representative of race pace. I'm hoping its a lot closer between Toyota and Audi come Saturday.

#2 Audi takes pole
#1 Audi lines up second and #3 is 3rd.
#8 Toyota is P4 followed by #7

LMP2 - #24 Morgan takes the honours with #26 Oreca and #38 Zytek

GTE Pro - #99 Aston Martin, #97 Aston Martin and then #92 Porsche

GTE Am - #95 Aston Martin, with #88 Porsche and #96 Aston Martin

From watching the session last night I got the impression that only one of their drivers needed to qualify and he went out and did his laps at the end of last nights session so they should be ok.

If they had failed to fit everything in then they'd have had to plead their case to the officials and hope that they'd be allowed to race regardless

I'm just setting up for tomorrow. Eurosport player is jerky as hell, I HOPE they sort it out by tomorrow

Well there's a kick in the balls. Eurosport player is practically unwatchable and is such a resource hog that it keeps crashing the computer, while the first two illegal feeds I've tried are absolutely perfect because they're embedded in nice simple web pages. Folks, I wouldn't bother wasting your money :(

Running silky smooth here at 2500kbps on my PC, maybe you need a newer version of silverlight?

Iam not saying it wont drop during the race itself but at the moment it seems to be working OK and yes it is an immense resource hog.

Is there anyway to manual adjust the quality of the player? Mine scales up and down by itself but the laptop I will be using to feed to my TV can't deal very well with anything above 1800.

It's a fresh download of Silverlight and my internet connection is alleging it's running at 4000kbps. It's jittery on both, but keeps crashing the older pc because it's chewing resources. I'll just watch it on one of the other feeds and maybe let Eurosport know that their service works better when they don't supply it :D

If you haven't been to Le Mans before I can't recommend it enougn. The talk of the fast driving down there is now game over due to heavy traffic enforcement by the police over there. 3000 euro fines and cars being impounded / crushed aren't unheard of..

Gonna be there next year again I hope for my 5th visit. I will go with a well organised group who rock up with big generator, fridge freezers and a good TV setup :)

Well as I have paid for eurosport live I feel completely justified in watching it from other 'sources' if required but if anything gets in my way of watching this race then iam not going to be held responsible.

Couple of big smashes in warm up. I hope they calm down a bit during the race or there won't be anyone finishing :D

Corvette had a big bang at what looked like the entry to esses after the Dunlop bridge, Kristiansen hit a Porsche in his Audi and there was a big smash with one of the LMP2 cars which one of the Toyotas only narrowly avoided. Looks like it's a bit slippery out there.
