*** 2014/15 Pre-season Friendly Thread ***

Good first half from us. The players are playing very well as a unit, which is great to see. They look like a team again.

What's letting us down is individual quality, Valencia's final ball is absolutely woeful. Fletcher has done very well.

Zaha hasn't actually played yet in preseason and is being asked to play more a striking role, I wouldn't be too harsh on him. Particularly as everyone else is up to pace in the game while he only just came on.

I don't know if he's really any good or not but take any player, basically bench them when previously first team for 6 months, then send them on loan where they'll not be match fit or up to speed with the first team. A season like last year can seriously hurt a player in confidence, form, fitness.

See how many chances he gets under LvG, how he progresses, I wouldn't judge him based on last year alone.

I did laugh when he was basically stood still with the fullback about 3ft infront of him, and he blasted it at him on the floor, fell straight back to him and he did exactly the same thing again.

Even late in the half from a corner or freekick, the ball came to Valencia, he was just inside your half with the nearest Real player 25 yards away, he waited, and waited and ended up passing backwards when he had 5-6 options to pass forwards safely and easily. So many times he'd run a bit down the right wing... up till the fullback then do a Walcott, stop, turn around and pass backwards. Unwilling to even try to beat the fullback.

He had one season in which about 4 of his awful shots deflected in, scored 3 others(one 99% certainly a cross which he buried in the net). He was actually crap that season and every one since.

Yeah, that's all he does, blasts it at the full back, passes it backwards or loses the ball. :(

I think Cuadrado in his place would be a very shrewd signing. Can do the defensive work and is far, far better going forward.

Has the Barca deal really stalled though? If not I cant see Utd having a sniff

lol, City's penalties going badly now, Sinclair/Milner with crap penalties.

EDIT:- lol, Richards skies his penalty in sudden death, couple yards over the bar, absolutely smashed it.

CIty out, lost on penalties, 3 english penalty takers, 3 penalties missed by City...

How come Gareth Bale can wear a little girls hair band and keep touching it like a little girl and not be mocked without mercy. It seems once you are famous you can wear pretty much anything (Russell Brand) lol...

Did he get it inside a lucky dip?
