Prediction time! Let's see who you think will finish where with at least a little justification for your choice.

EPL

1) Chelski - added really well to an already strong squad.
2) Citeh - great team but don't think they have improved.
3) Arsenal - great additions but they still need a good CB, DM and CF to win it.
4) Man Utd - think they'll be hard to beat this year without being exciting.

18) Soton - lost their key players and haven't added.
19) Swansea - as above.
20) Leicster - they haven't added any quality and think they'll struggle without getting many goals.

Championship

1) Derby
2) Norwich
Play off) Fulham

La Liga

1) Real
2) Barca

Premier League:

1 - Man City - Surprised how Chelsea improved last year but needs a bigger step to catch City. Just can't see it personally.

2 - Chelsea - Best of the rest. Torres to bang in 3 all season (in reserve games)

3 - Liverpool - What a season they had, but losing Suarez will hurt. Sturridge is very good, but he won't score 30.

4 - Man Utd - No Europe helped Liverpool, and will probably help propel United back into the big time, but they were so shockingly poor last year you can't feel that a new manager can lift them from 7th to 1st... can he?

18 - Southampton - Mass Exodus, only Rodriguez and Schneiderlin left of the impressive team they had last year. Could be in freefall.

19 - Aston Villa - we're just garbage really. Freezing out players like Hutton and Bent then noshing them off to come play again after both wanted out, because we have £0 to spend. Lerner wants out, Faulkner's gone and nobody cares. We've also let our 2 standout young players in Albrighton and Delfouneso sod off for nothing. Utter lunacy. We deserve everything we get.

20 - Burnley - just can't see them competing at this level. Leicester and QPR have good enough squads to stay up. Very reliant on Ings's goalscoring.

Championship:

Fulham
Wolves
Derby (P-O)

Premier League:
1 - Chelsea - Bought well and will be more hungry to win than City
2 - Man City - I just don't think they will have that hunger to retain the crown
3 - Man Utd - Good manager & No Europe will play into Utd's hand's, so much so they might even win it!
4 - Arsenal - Will pip Spurs by goal difference on final day of season....

Championship
1 - Wigan - Strong squad

FA Cup
Man Utd

League Cup
Man Utd

Premier League:

1. Chelsea - Just the best team/manager combination IMO.
2. Man City - Them and Chelsea are a class above all the other teams.
3. Man Utd
4. Arsenal
...
7. Liverpool (because they always follow 2nd with 7th, right? ;))
...
18. Southampton - Have sold the vast majority of their talent and not replaced it. I also get the impression morale is poor.
19. Burnley
20. Leicester - I can't see them or Burnley having the quality to stay up.

FA Cup
Man City

League Cup
Man Utd

1. Chelsea
2. City
3. Arsenal
4. Man Utd
5. Liverpool
6. Spurs
7. Everton

Chelsea and City have squads that are a step above everyone else. Quality throughout, and good depth. I think Chelsea have the marginally better squad and a significantly better manager, but either way I think it'll be City and Chelsea occupying the top two spots.

Arsenal have strengthened well, and if they can avoid injury issues and/or February collapse, then I think they'll come in third.

Liverpool, I think, are still in transition. They've been adding squad depth rather than world-class quality. This will help them compete in the extra games this season, but I think they'll finish outside the top four.

I think Spurs will finish ahead of Everton. They have a good squad, if they can play as a unit, and I think Pochettino will do a half-decent job of getting them to play together.

Got to laugh at all the people saying Southampton haven't replaced.

Lambert - Pelle
Shaw - Bertrand
Lallana - Tadic
Lovren - possibly Rojo
Chambers - preferred Clyne anyway :p
Taider....

Maybe not as good but the numbers are there with Forster, a CB and a striker to come.

As for the winners, probably Chelsea this year.

EPL

1) Chelsea - Have done the best business out of anybody this transfer window. Squad has a pretty much perfect mix of youth and experience as well as squad depth that will make any manager jealous.
2) Man City - Haven't taken any great strides forward from last year. Sagna is a good addition but will only be used as a back up player, I don't expect Yaya Toure will have another season like his last one.
3) Man Utd - Wanted to put Arsenal here, but I think without the distraction of European football United are in with a real shot at returning to the top. Their transfer business so far hasn't been thrilling, but if any of the names being talked about do arrive they'll be hard to beat.
4) Arsenal - We did good business and we did it early, unfortunately I just don't think that it is going to be enough. Letting Fabregas slip through out fingers was a mistake, a big one. Sanchez is a great signing, Debuchy looks reasonable and Chambers is one for the future. I think too much faith is being placed in Wilshire and Ramsey, I don't think they're the guys to drive Arsenal forward to sucess.

18. Villa - in my opinion they've done the worst business of the transfer window. They have signed 3 absolutely **** players, 3 players who have failed just about everywhere they have been, 3 luxuries that they cannot afford to carry.
19. Swansea - Michu out on loan, what? If the don't manage to hold onto Bony they are all but a certainty for the drop.
20. Burnley - I don't think they have the quality or the depth for the premiership.

FA Cup
Liverpool - I expect Liverpool to drop out of Europe at the group stages, giving them the resources to throw at the cup.

League Cup
Tottenham - Always been a strong cup team, I don't think they have a chance at breaking into the Top 5 this year, got to go all out for the cups.

La Liga
1) Real Madrid - Looking at squad depth compared to Barcelona I'd take Real all day long, expect that Bale will come into his own this season. Kroos will hit the ground running, they just have too many options to fail.
2) Barcelona - I don't think they're stronger now than they were last year. Suarez while being a great player is not where their money should have been invested, new manager will take time to settle in.
3) Athletico Madrid - would love to be proved wrong on this one, I love what Simeone did with the team last year. I think he will continue to get results but I think losing Costa will hurt them too much.

Edit: Fixed :o

So.. which bottom 3 are you going for, as both are totally different!

Southampton won't be in a relegation battle let alone be relegated. Quite surprised how many think they will.

It might be a bit reactionary, but the Premier League is an unforgiving beast and Southampton's first team has pretty much been gutted. I can't think of a team that's been in a comparable situation in the history of the PL. It's not just the playing squad either - the manager is gone too. There will be very little continuity from last years successful team.

Personally, I don't think they'll be relegated, but I can understand why others might. It's certainly a possibility given the massive turnover.

Not sure why some people think Swansea are going to get relegated. Vorm was patchy last season, Michu wasn't great and was injured a lot last year, left back was probably the strongest position in the squad. Without the Europa League I think they'll be fine.

1.Chelsea - If Costa plays well I think they'll just about have the edge.

2. Man City - Will push Chelsea close.

3. Arsenal or Man Utd. A season without European football could give Utd the edge if they can sign a decent centre half or two.

Relegated.

Villa - Scrapped by last season. Have signed some shocking players in the summer and let probably their best player during the last part of the season leave. Part of me wants them to go so Lerner loses more money.

Burnley

WBA or Leicester

Chelsea just need a striker to score more than just a few goals a season. Be hard to stop them if Costa runs riot. Not to mention Drogba being back. Drog can probably get a good 10 or so goals in this season.

How Will The Premier Table Look....

At the end of the season the table will look as follows:

1 Liverpool
2 Chelsea
3 Man City
4 Arsenal
5 Man United

Post your top 5 end of season table

Mine's listed in the other thread on this topic.

edit - reposting since this thread seems here to stay:

1. Chelsea
2. City
3. Arsenal
4. Man Utd
5. Liverpool
6. Spurs
7. Everton
