2014 Proposed Calender

I never thought it likely Valencia (street track) would return, pictures I last saw it was in a right state.

Theres no way that Mexican track can host an F1 race in its current state. I expect its in there just as a weapon to bash New Jersey and India over the head with.

Can't see Korea sticking around either.

F1 has its own stricter circuit requirements than any other car racing series, and then Bernies facilities requirements on top.

If you look closely at the FIA requirements for a grade 1 circuit, several current F1 tracks don't actually meet them. Items like corner radius and banking etc. BE and the rest of the management will take the F1 circus where they feel like - usually the places that put up enough money.

Looks good - just need to get shot of Borecalona and most of the flyaways and I'd be happy with it :p

A1/Red Bull Ring = massive yes! :D

They are historical tracks though. Its like Sky packages (lol), if you have it already you can keep it, but for a new track to join you need to meet the new rules.

Somewhere like Monaco would be laughed out of the room if that track didn't exist now and someone proposed it.

And the tracks are certified by the FIA, not FOM. The fat cheques they write to Bernie in order to host a race have no bearing on if the FIA certify the track for F1 racing.

The problems at Mexico are run off, the surface quality, and the baseball stadium, and from what I can find nothing is being done to resolve them yet?

Mexico will be mandated to get their track up to speed Skeeter by the FIA. They have 14 months till their GP. I'm sure the track will be fine come the race.

The addition of 'provisional' next to Korea makes me happy :p

Right, best start looking at flights to Spain and Austria.

Nice to see New Jersey back - I hope they make it but the signs are still not good at all.

Geographically, the calendars in a bit of a mess. I imagine it will drift down to 20 races, making the 5 races per engine rule a little easier (and cheaper) too.

If New Jersey doesn't make it on to the final calendar then it'll be Austria or Singapore for me in 2014.
