I'm pre-empting black friday, as my wife got on to the ridiculous deal for the Tab S8 last year.....

Big fan of the Ipad Pro, it's rock solid, but hasn't fared well against drops so is a bit dinged up. Battery life is awful in Hearthstone (it's main use apart from streaming) but is at 76% health so not too bad.

Geekbench suggests that the S9 scores double what this Ipad Pro can do. Assuming the value is there come Black Friday and I don't need an Apple device for any specific reason, would I be a food not to upgrade???

I've got an S8 Ultra and if you can get a bargain on that get that over the S9U.
It'll be cheaper and do everything

It's probably going to be storage dependent in the end, I need 256gb+... I know the wife got the Tab S8 for under £400 with £150 of vouchers on top and other benefits on the employee scheme... But to upgrade my Ipad to a new model would cost me a lot more than that!

You would be a fool to upgrade if it already does everything you want it to do well

It's the battery life in Hearthstone which is the main driver.... With a battery health rating of 76% according to the system (pinch of salt required?), I sometimes get 1x 30 minute game before the battery is drained from 100% to dead. I'm under the impression that the game is either coded badly and as such drains the battery of any device (phone isn't affected anywhere near this bad) or the 7 year old device is no longer optimised for this game specifically and a new device would last longer.
