This just popped up on a feed and had to double check to see I was looking at a KIA photo

Numbers are quite good also, 3.6 V6 twin turbo, 365BHP, 509Nm, RWD (with LSD).

Really digging that interior, just not the iPad  The body style has hints of A7, XE, and various BMW cues.

That's a KIA!

Hmm unless they do release a coupe version also. The GT in my op is what's being officially unveiled tomorrow at the Detroit Autoshow, so perhaps a coupe will follow later?

We will find out tomorrow what the UK gets :p

One thing is confirmed though, no manual gearbox option :( :(

Doesn't sound like the auto box is a double clutch unit either going by the 0-60 time of 5.1s, either that or it's quite heavy!

It's the 7yr warranty and no hassle ownership that draw people to Kia. Their latest models really do look good and appear to offer good value for money with the current quality of them as well.

Word on the street is that a v8 version is a "possibility" for the Aus market. I imagine that would be an even bigger hit especially over there.

Heard recently that even the sport trim level on the 4 cylinder models will come with quad exhausts

Just when things were going seemingly well for Kia.

Not really comparable though, when the Stinger is 2 years old it will be much cheaper than a 2yr old M5. Look how much a brand new M5 was at release, or still is.

Obviously that's just comparing the rrp, other factors weigh in favour of either car.

My engine doesn't have a plastic cover on top, the bonnet does have a piece of material on the inside though which is labelled as sound absorption, and in the event of a fire, the plastic clips holding it up melt and the material falls to cover the engine. Think that kind of "system" is the best way to do it. Means you can still see the engine as an enthusiast, and you also get the noise/safety benefits at the same time.

Surely that thing with M stuck on it is a plastic cover...
Rocker cover? That's part of the design and serves little other purpose like sound deadening or safety rather than a massive plastic cover blocking view and access to most of the engine from inside the bay.

Every engine has a rocker cover.
