I didn’t realise the iPad can be had new for as little as £319. Is it a decent buy? I presume the next iPad upgrades will be pro only. Regards

If I had kids or something it'd be a good buy for them, but if I was after a 9.7" iPad for myself I'd look at a refurb/used 1st gen Pro 9.7" because even if you don't use the Pro features the screen is so much better and you can do more with it. I'd imagine when the 2019 iPads come out the 10.5" Pro, which replaced the 9.7" as the smaller Pro model and makes the old iPad design feel completely antiquated, could get picked up for a not quite as cheap but similar price: right now on the Refurb store the 9.7" Pros start at £439 and the 10.5" at £539, so knock £100 off when new models come out... depends if you want to buy now or don't mind waiting a little.

Tempted to wait a month and picking up a current generation pro for a similar price. The screen gap seems fairly noticeable, will pop into an apple store monday.

I paid £240 brand new from HK/China. Keep an eye on hotukdeals and grab a billy bargain.

I’ve managed to find a similar price
without too much searching, if the screen isn’t so bad on monday i can’t say no at this price point.

I'm not sure I agree with your assessment. I ordered the Pro tried it for a couple of days then sent it back and got the 2018 iPad instead. Whilst there is ever such a slight difference in the screen quality I noticed little difference in everyday use.

I only use the iPad for web browsing and the odd email or two, so for me £319 plus a £60 discount voucher was more than enough to spend. It will more than do me now for the next four years.

It's on very atm.... 32gb model with £50 off until Thursday, with buy now pay 6 months.

I've personally just ordered the 128gb model Just bought an apple 4k TV for my OLED. My android phone is crap for connecting to my iTunes account, so gone for a complete package Always avoided apple products, but this combo will see me 4 years or so.

I have the iPad Pro 10.5 and the iPad 2018. iPad 2018 is a good buy, I only use it to take notes for my studying as it has Apple pencil support. I like to keep my 10.5 at home demanding things.

Mrs has the 10.5" Pro, paid ~£450 for it brand new quite a while ago now. The screen is amazing, the best I've ever used on a tablet device and the 120Hz refresh rate is difficult to move away from once you've been using it for a while.

I think if you really want a new iPad the standard 2018 model is pretty much always available for £240-250 delivered, and the fact it has a world wide warranty means no need to worry about buying it from anywhere really.

Had my pad a few days now..... and I must say I’m impressed. Took me while to get everything setup mind lol. My eyesight is struggling on my mobile these days so this is a breath of fresh air for internet use.

Plugged hd600 headphones in and played some of iTunes music. Quite good imo. I’ll be trying Spotify premium next month. The sound from the pad itself is a bit pants tbh. Would have preferred speakers on different ends.
