I've been researching my first CPU build for about 8 months. My goal is to maximise the performance of my LG27GL850 Monitor. So ideally QHD level gaming at a high FPS. Like many others I've been keen for the Zen 3 CPUs and the new GPUs (30XX and AMD 6***).
So I've landed on a dream build of an Mini-ITX with a Ryzen 5 5600X and an RTX 3070/AMD 6800. Dream build because it doesn't seem to exist in 2020.
I assume these parts won't be available for some time, does anyone have insight on this? By this I mean are we looking at 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, more than that?
Assuming these parts are 6 months or more away, I am thinking of pushing ahead with a Ryzen 5 3XXX build and some kind of GPU. Is it a good idea to buy a cheap GPU then sell this when the new GPUs come along? If so any GPUs someone could recommend as a stock gap? Or should I suck it up and buy a RTX 2XXX which I've been avoiding given price/performance (especially with current availability)? Any comments on second hand?
Any help is really appreciated.
