I've not touched PC building since 2016, so this should be a laugh..

So here's my 2016 rig in operation.. Nothing wrong with it, just wanted a massive upgrade.

I'm going to watercool my CPU Using the 2 fan rad in the old rig, and the GPU with the three fan rad thats sitting on top of the new case.
Still have more parts in the post. I kept realising I needed an extra this or that, so there are quite a few orders in. I may be ODing on Haribo soon..
 
Now all I have to do is tear my old rig down, clean the cooling system so I can reuse it, tear down the GPU, pop the SSD's and HDD out... Water cool the GPU, pop it all in the new rig, and for the love of all thats silicone, try and work out the bloody ARGB stuff and fan power...

Ok, here goes the Overclocking report...

12900K temps are horrendously high without the overclock. If it was on Air I would be buying a liquid cooler! But even on liquid with a stable overclock of 5400mhz when under load its bouncing off 100c which had me worried that I'd messed up with putting the block on, and even thought I'd left some protective plastic on the block!. So much so that I pulled the block off and checked my thermal paste, I hadn't messed up, and the paste was almost perfect. I reapplied and re thought what was going on. But even on liquid with a slightly lower stable overclock of 5200mhz when under load its bouncing off 100c! So what I've done is keep the 5200 OC but under volt/offset the bugger 0.0500v so it wont thermal throttle. Now when under load its bouncing off 90c - a huge improvement! But what I think also happens is that AI overclock also underclocks when all the cores are banged out at 100% - all in the interest of not thermite burning a hole through the case!

All of these screenies were taken with all the usual apps still running + the 100% pinned was taken while running everything plus Cinebench R20 in an already warm room. (Score 9476 - I'll have to get a shot later with ideal conditions.) I did get another run to go to 10325 points, but no pic so it didn't happen :(
This is one HOT chippie!
