The forum needs a new one for the new TVs

The first review of the Samsung S95C is out from Rtings: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/s95c-oled

Unfortunately it doesn't get as bright as Samsung claimed, but it's still quite good and peaks at 1300nits in a 2% window. Unfortunately it uses the same coating as last year and doesn't have a polariser so it doesn't have the best contrast in a bright room. The really good news is that it has near perfect EOTF tracking, there is no funny business going on this year and no artificial brightness to make images pop unrealistically

Samsung has to start the new year with some controversy though; while they got the EOTF perfect this time it looks like Samsung has switched its QLED TVs this year to IPS panels from VA, so while this OLED should be very favourable, Samsungs other TVs could get hammered in reviews

Samsung does this every year, they always release updates that nerf their TVs

It's been a while since the release of this year's models and I was starting to think there won't be any nerf this year like last year when they release an update that killed HDR brightness. But thanks to Vincent I was not disappointed

Unless your using a top of the range PC with it, the lower bandwidth has absolutely no effect with anything else

That's not the point, the point is they nerfed features after people bought the TV. It's such a Samsung thing to do

If you watch any HLG content do not buy a Samsung QD-OLED

Samsung has much work to do, they have by far the worst HLG HDR performance
