My cousin has a OCUK Mach 3 from 2024 (5700X3D, 4070 Super) and is asking what RAM to buy for it. I might step her through the bios to figure it out, but I'm assuming this vintage was all DDR4?

Planning to give her a link to a 3200, 32gb DDR4 dual stick setup and get her to switch out the 16gb to sell. I'm a few hundred miles away to help her much more than that!

Silly me, I thought this was a crossover era and AM4 was capable of both... I'm probably thinking too Intel.

Technically you’re not wrong. Zen is capable of supporting DDR5 even DDR3 and possibly even DRR2, although I’m not sure on that. But AM4 is a DDR4 platform.

This is not always an easy job, might need graphics removed, for example. 3200 is fine, though worth asking them to download CPU-Z or hwinfo (from official source, might be best to link directly) and check what is present. With RAM prices as they are, 2x8 (or even a single stick) is an option I wouldn't ignore.
