2025/26 Preseason Thread

Fantastic by Preston with the tribute, proper welling up and the crowd have been singing his song for 10 minutes now and that includes quite a lot of the Preston fans

Connor Bradley with the goal, made really by Chiesa. Dont think we are going to miss Trent in the right back position with Bradley and Frimpong

Lol commentators....regarding the Liverpool transfers

"Yeah I think there might be a few through the door and might be a few out the door"

Yup...that pretty accurately describes a transfer window. Well done.

Nice take from darwin for his goal, Frimpong has got pace to burn, the lad is super quick. Kerkez has looked good defensively. Thought Ngumoha looked good 1st half, but so far Gakpo has been head and shoulders above him for me.

Our first friendly today, up against Leeds in Stockholm. I wish we'd go back to playing foreign teams, playing English teams in preseason feels so weird.

Starting lineup: Bayindir, Mazraoui, De Ligt, Shaw, Amad, Casemiro, Collyer, Leon, Fernandes (c), Cunha, Obi

18 minutes into Man United and Leeds and it's remarkably like watching us from last season. ie ponderous, lacking ideas and easily pressed playing out. Oh dear!

Half Time
Leeds living up to their "dirty" monicker. No-one has really been able to exert much control in the game. Lots of niggly fouls and quite a lenient ref. Cunha has looked decent but in a direct attacking sense but also as a player capable of making good passes. Amad a few flashes but he's been kicked every time he gets near the ball. Diego Leon has look er very raw but not really helped by Luke Shaw who has stepped up and not won the ball on 2/3 occasions which exposed the LWB. not 100% sure on the formation but it seemed that Collyer was playing RWB with Bruno and Casemiro in midfield. It didn't work at all really. Cue 11 changes at half time.
PS Bayinder is crap.
