Hi Guys i have a 52 reg 206 gti that i have got all the service parts for, air, fuel, oil filters etc, i went to local motor factors and gave them reg number etc and they gave me all the stuff. so gave to my Dad who is a mechanic but not Peugeot trained and he said that he could not find the fuel filter anywhere, he asked a guy at his work who used to work at Peugeot and he could not find it either.

My car is a crossover on 02/03 and has 03 wiring in it which i know from changing stereo etc. i have read on other forums that some models have the filter inside the tank so cannot be changed, would this be correct for mine?

Thanks in advance.

Chris.

They are usually clipped to the side of the tank... surely a case of getting under the car and tracing the fuel lines back to the filter.

Ok, after a quick google I found this. Now it's from a 1.4 HDi.. but it might apply to a GTi?

OK Found it.

Not hard ... it's at the back of the cylinder head, right-hand/gearbox end and partially hidden by the engine cover. Black round plastic unit with two pipes at 90 degrees. Held in place by metal clamp (2 torq screws) and one torq screw.

Not easy to remove though as the fitting screws are torq screws and not much room for torq bit and socket especially at front where battery housing reduces the space.

In the end I used a ring spanner on the torq bit, rather than bulky socket wrench. THere's also a small pipe connected near the bottom which proved a problem to remove. This and the filter body are plastic!
