207 GTI

I had the horrible displeasure of a 207 for a hire car.

The steering feel was awful, really notchy and stiff with a bit of a dead spot at motorway speeds. Made motorway work hard going as I had to constantly concentrate to keep it in a straight line. It was wondering all over the place :(

Made me apreciate my skoda a bit more!

Yeah well I forgot about that one...but we were talking about 20x not 30x...soooo technically I am free and clear. :D

In that case then were good! lol

Agreed though 206 GTI was underpowered and not all that great of a chasis. 206 GTI 180 was still underpowered as most only gave out approx 160bhp, was also over wheeled imo. Best part of the 180 was the front seats which are lurvelllly

Peugeot haven't done a good GTI since the 205. :(

^ 306 GTI-6 was a good car.

Surely add the 106GTi to that list too? :p

I've seen a couple of 207GTI's parked up before and they look pretty bland. I know Peugeot developed the turbo engine in partnership (or were they soley responsible for the design?) with BMW which eventually found it's way into the new Cooper-S' so engine department is fairly sorted but hampered by a slug of a chasis.

the 207 is abysmal. granted, i experienced a 1.4HDi, but still, the whole car was over assisted with terrible steering and brakes..
the interior was pretty shocking too. no thanks, not even a gti.

The gti apparently has the same engine as the Mini Cooper S I believe? But nothing else about it is as good as its BMW/Chrysler? engined couterpart!
