Hi. I had this thread in the Graphics Card section but got told might do better here.

I just got a MSI rtx 2070 super gaming x trio from MM. Got it installed and tried a gaming test. The fans have not started up with the below temps.

There are three GPU temp readings in HWMonitor and I'm not sure what they should be before the fans kick in. The fans DO run, they run when the PC is first turned on and I had a quick play with MSI Afterburner and can get that to make them spin, so I don’t think there is a problem with them. Possibly just my lack of knowledge, but I didn't want to burn out my new card before I even get to use it.

GPU 60.7
Memory 90.7
Hot Spot 90.7

At these temps the fans are at 0 rpm. These temps after playing Cyberpunk for about 3 minutes. I would guess that the fans do not turn on with the GPU temp at 60 but what is the memory and hot spot all about? I'm at work till this evening so I can’t give it another test until then, but I'll certainly appreciate and take on board help.

Thanks for any advice.

Just use Afterburner to create your own fan profile. Switch them on sooner. A good temperature to switch them on is 40 degrees but you could go even lower if you want. It's really not hard to do a fan profile, you don't need anything complicated.

I managed to get the fans going fine using Afterburner. The GPU temps stay at good levels. The Hot Spot and Memory are around 80-90 (Nearer 90). These are the worrying numbers. HWmonitor shows these temps under the GPU heading so they must be on it somewhere.
