Just found a 2080 for £600 (Zotac amp extreme, which seems to be one of the faster ones) which seems a lot cheaper than most others is the 2070 super still the better deal for around £500 (the KFA2 on here, of which reviews are seriously sparse)?

There are so many cards around now it gets confusing which performs better than which others. Nvidia sure love to confuse things with their crappy naming.

The 2080 is better than any 2070 Super but at £600 the difference is minimal vs cost. 2070S should be closer to £450-475 but with stock situation being what it is, they generally go for closer to £500. Still £100 cheaper. Imo it's very very hard to justify the cost disparity. I'd say go for the 70 Super instead.

Read some of my recent posts. I was in the same boat and went with the extreme amp 2080

For £600 that's a very good price

It's as fast as a 2080 Super.

It also overclocks very well. It's probably 15% faster than the 2070 super

My time spy gpu score is 12160

Looking at benchmarks the 2070 super is around 9500 and the 2080ti is around 13400

So when overclocked its within 15% of the much more expensive 2080ti

Also if you are interested in rtx and dlss then the 2080 cards are again superior as they have more rtx cores

How are you finding the 2070s at UW 1440p? It's my planned upgrade.

Its great, im going back through Exodus again at the moment, on Ultra settings, with the RT on Ultra too, and its running great (although im still on The Volga), it also looks fantastic.

My own 2070 non super hit nearly 10k in timespy and a super version should hit 10500. The original 2070 was very under rated and a good one is barely different performance wise from a super which seem to be loved!

The best 2080ti’s are hitting 17k which is way off your (and mine amp extreme) 2080 scores of 1200.

Got the amp extreme... already going back lol. hitting 90c and none of the rgb works (nor does the software) also keeps just freezing windows for some reason, went back to my 1080ti and all normal again, so def the card. (and I had done a full driver reinstall)
Looked amazing on paper, sadly I lost the silicon lottery on that one. gonna get a 2070 super kfa2 instead I think from here.

Theyre both terrible value.

The only card worth getting for over £400 is a 5700 XT, the reference you can get for £360-370
With no RTX, lower framerates than 2070 super in every game (which is fair enough considering its cheaper) and the reference is extremely loud.

Most of them are the same price some 2070 super cards yet nowhere near the performance. I reckon future navi cards wil be great if priced well.

5700 XT is beating both 2060 and 2070 Super cards in many games. The games that the 2070 super has the edge is by a narrow margin and at those high frames, you would never know. Save yourself some cash and rock an AMD card. I tried an AMD card when my GTX 280 burned out in 2010 and never looked back.

Not according to any reviews I have seen. Not seen one review where it beats 2070 super cards at all.

Literally just been reading one for a new MSI 5700xt card where it was a fair way behind a founders edition 2070 super yet more expensive. I would rather have the Nvidia card and have better performance and rtx.

Near enough every comparison review has said the 5700xt is a good card but the 2070 super is the better option.

I'll have some of what you're smoking, please

not according to my own testing, there is
not much in it between the two cards, it just comes down to quality of cooler.

I would take a 5700XT devil over a 2070 super fe or any dual fan 2070 super.

Well which 2070 supers have you tested?
Not one test has shown the 5700xt ahead.
It's not a direct competitor to the 2070 super. It's a competitor to the 2060 super. To that I agree it is a better card.
It's a full 30fps below the 2070 super is some games according to several reviews I just read. (some a lot closer but only a few cases and that's only the far more expensive cards with high factory overclocks)

Depends on what someone thinks of RT atm. 5700 doesn't have RT HW acceleration at all - a huge negative to me on a 2070 performance level card, but maybe not so much to others.

i don’t trust most of the sites so i do my own testing (as others do here) and post my own findings. i own a 2070 super founders edition. lovely piece of kit it is too.

you can follow my testing in my thread.

i have been tinkering around with a 9900kf so have not had much time but i am going to re-run my 5700xt/2070s/1080ti custom tests with 4/6/8 cores with my selection of games.

both cards are really good buys but i would go for a watercooled 1080ti custom over both of them because the frame times tend to be a smidge lower.

RT performance on all cards is a bit crap. But even on the 2070s it's acceptable fps even at high settings in most games and above 60 with a few settings dialed down at 1440p.
Getting better with each new game as well. Still brand new tech.

I would still rather have it than not have it at all.
