Hiya, have an older Ryzen Board with Gigabyte GA-AB350-Gaming 3 AMD B350 (been rock solid) and last year put in a Ryzen 5800X3D as is the fastest chip for the board, just need to upgrade from a 2070S.

Was looking at 4060Ti (always had Nvidia), but also seen the 7700XT mentioned but at £300 on OC recently. However, these are now back to nearly £400 even with Black Friday.
Budget is max £400 and been out the loop on graphics cards for a while. Have 3 in family 3060Ti, 4070 and the oldest 2070S.
Tend to run at 2K as have 1440p monitor
Anything else I need to check - PSU, etc?
Thx

According to TPU's GPU database the 4060 Ti 8GB is just 28% faster than what you have, so I'd suggest a 7800 XT (78%) or 4070 (65%), though you can get the 7800 XT within budget and not the latter.

The 4060 Ti 16GB is not something I would buy:

If it can run a 2070 Super then it should handle any of the above.

so I found a Toms Hardware guide that basically said the card to buy is the 4070Super. However, is it worth the wait to the 50 cards are out and any resulting price drop on the 4070S or this now?
I appreciate that am upping the budget a lot

Asus GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER Dual EVO OC 12GB GDDR6X PCI-Express Graphics Card -White for 569.99 on OCUK

Definitely a nicer upgrade on what you have, so I'd agree if you can afford it.

AMD RDNA4 is going to hit the midrange first (there aren't any high-end ones), but from what I've heard lately nvidia are likely to start with the high-end and it'll be next year. So, a replacement for the 4070 might be anywhere from a few months to 6 months away :o

My advice would be to wait for black friday and pick up anything equivalent to or better than a 4070/7800 XT at the best price possible.

None of us know anything though, so you take your chances...
