2080 ... Issues

Noticing all of a sudden sometimes I'll get black screen flashes , 3 or 4 in rapid succession with each one lasting no more than half a second at best.

Double checked the DP cable , and adjusted the monitor refresh from 166 to 144 as 166 is technically overclocked despite options for it , still the same issue. Noticed it yesterday in PUBG and than BFV , doubt it's the driver as have had the latest one in since release and issues only arose yesterday . But will revert to the previous one when I get back to the machine , any ideas ? It's almost like how a driver fails due to high clocks and explorer.exe ends up restarting or when removing a driver to install one . Can't work it out

You mean like a refresh rate/resolution change flicker? It could be anything really but most likely something to do with either the monitor, G/card or DP cable. Did you change the DP cable? I know you said you checked it, but did you swap it for another one as a test? Lowering the refresh to something lower again won't really help as you want/expect to be able to game at 144Hz.

You have a few options, leave it to see if it was a one/two off, change the DP cable to make sure that isn't the issue, change to another driver - not sure that'll help. It's looks like it could be a hardware(G/card) issue but you need to do some of the previous checks to try and troubleshoot it some more. If you have another machine or G/card to test the monitor with, although it's unlikely to be the monitor it needs checking just the same.

Replaced the DP cable now im home , Reverted drivers just on the off chance , will see what tonight brings and post back
