Hello guys,
I wish all of you are coping well after yesterday, absolute disaster. I managed to place an order at 15:07 to be told to day it'll be 1-2month wait minimum thus I decided to cancel the order.

However, the reason why I'm making this thread is to ask your opinion about still getting a 2080ti in these dark times?

The offer is - MSI 2080ti Gaming Z trio (yes Z) for £600. Owner claims that the factory seals haven't even been removed and he hasn't registered the card with msi, which, I think, means that it still has full 3 year warranty.

I get that FE 3080 will go for £650 once back in stock, but I don't plan playing at 4k, just 1440p and games like warzone and bf5.
If you were in my position would consider getting it or am I about to make a huge mistake?

Thanks to everyone for reading and sharing your thoughts.

Never ever believe people claiming the seal isn't broken, they just re-sealed it. It's trivial to do. Unlikely it has full 3 year warranty either, remember that warranty depends on manufacturing date for purposes of using the serial number. If it's even accepted.

It's not a bad card & not a bad price, but I'd say no more than £500 for it - new cards are coming out within next 2 months for cheap that are as fast or faster. It makes no sense at £600.

I'd not buy a 2080ti at this time. It's too old a card to get now, and the 3080 series are so much better in every way. As you've already cancelled, I'd just sit back and wait until the new year, when there's likely to be 3080's available to actually buy without a pre-order.

A pre-order from OCUK is the fastest way to get a 3080, as OCUK are the largest Nvidia supported retailer in the UK, and thus will receive the most stock. They just can't tell you when, as no-one can. Still no faster way to get a 3080.

Well i gave my position on the list up already. Now I'm starting to regret it. Just that the ocuk adviser on the phone told me it'll me 1-2months minimum, so i added another 2 just in case on top and decided not to wait for it.
Ok, I'll try to get it down to £500.
