2080ti dead within 2 hours ?

LOL are you for real??? They had a stock pile because of the mining and they over produced thinking it was going to last longer than it did. The 1080 and 1080Ti sold in huge numbers. They sold so many 1070 and 1080 on release that they had a record breaking quarter.

People didn't buy Nvidia cards for mining. They wanted Vega cards because they were much better at it, when they were gone they moved on to 480/580s which is why you couldn't buy any for months.

HAHA keep digging man. People did buy Nvidia cards for mining. Hence why their revenue went down when the bubble burst and why they have stock pile of cards. Nvidia cards were much better for certain coins then AMD cards.

OCuk should be offering a testing service before shipment. For free of course.

As Taken says, they can fail at anytime. Also, what test could they do, as there doesn't seem to be any link between the load on the GPU and when the failures occur.

I'd be happy for them to unbox and stress for 24x7 before shipment. That would probably smoke it if faulty.

Yeah not a great idea, but I'd still be happy for them to do it.

Don't think you are listening, Stress testing doesn't matter, it could pass a week of stress testing then fail a month later.

Why should OCUK do this? Surely the responsibility to make sure the cards are working lies with Nvidia and the AIBs?

Yup no point in OCUK testing the RTX cards. because as has been said they seem to fail for any number of reasons.

Anyway would you want to buy a used GPU, because that is what you would be doing. it is not like a speed binned OEM CPU where you are buying a slightly faster than stock CPU for a price.

Its pointless, these guys could stress them for a month non stop, before selling them, and they could be playing Space Invaders within 5 minutes of getting into someones rig.

I am a bit surprised that the cause of these failures still isn't known, I know that NVidia fixed some things in the drivers to help prevent the BSOD issue, but I've not heard anything about why they seem to fail like they have been, other than NVidia BS about a few test cards manged to make it onto the market.

OFC the whole "test cards" thing is total BS. Test cards somehow ending up back on the production line and boxed up, then shipped to suppliers? Nope.

It will be a manufacturing defect somewhere. They won't want to tell people because it's likely to be lurking in all of them and they want to flog them to as many mugs as possible.
