2080Ti Pre-order shipping dates

I thought that at first from the images straight on to the fans but I've actually changed my mind since you never see the fans, just the backplate and side on. The EVGA grew on me, especially the ultra which looks like it has a beastly cooler with a 2.75 slot heatsink. Side on I think it looks fantastic (as seen in https://www.evga.com/articles/01249/evga-geforce-rtx-20-series/).
The clear plastic puts me off of I'm honest.:D

The size... yikes! I couldn't initially see it from the oblique angle they had (perhaps they reused the XC image), but when I saw it would take up 3 slots, that puts some limits on using it in an SLI configuration (if I decide to go that route again) - a second card wouldn't fit in my case.

Hopefully that size of cooler is not a harbinger of things to come when we finally see the thermals.

The Nvidia design doesn't seem to be getting a great deal of love from what I'm seeing, but I really like it personally. Some of the AIB cards are fugly as hell!

A lot of them have gone for 3 slots on even their basic cards. Makes me think these RTX cards are gonna need a good cooler!! I'm used to the 3 slot width with my amp extreme right now and had sli before, wouldn't do that again unless this nvlink is somehow going to make a major difference.

When all 3 sets of cores are going full pelt man I expect the Ti's are gonna be hot as all hell! nVidia better have done a bang up job on that 2-slot design....

Well it all depends how well they've implemented it as you say... 3 fans aren't necessarily better then 2, there have been plenty of bad (and noisy) implementations of that design. I'm less concerned about temps than I am noise personally, as temps are always well within tolerance in an adequately cooled case with good air flow, but a GPU that sounds like a vacuum cleaner under load is audible and annoying even with headphones on lol!

You say that, but I've just got a Strix 1080Ti and am finding it roughly 7-8c cooler at the same noise level as my MSI Gaming X one (and I found that to be damn good cooling!!!). Just incredible from the Strix imo. But yes, I'd agree that generally you're right (as the Aorus I had was probably worse than the MSI).

Mainly to differentiate from the founders which now carries a two fan design they are mostly larger with three, I wouldn’t read too much in to it...

I am also interested in when they will ship and handy to know that the 2080Ti will start shipping on the 23rd. You didn't need to read or post if it bothers you.

That's fair enough but didn't you pre-order? Doesn't your email tell you when it is shipping? Did this need an entirely new thread considering there is already one dedicated to pre-ordering where this could have been posted instead of spamming the forum with yet another 20 series thread?

And I was off in my estimate, there are 51 separate threads on the forum related to the release of these cards (that I counted, there might be more). Excessive to say the least and most are related topics which could easily have been posted in an existing thread.

We all get it, people are excited about the new cards but that is no excuse for filling the entire forum full of threads about it. I mean, what's next. Someone gonna start a thread asking 'Wonder what the rpm range of the fans are on the 2080ti?'

that reminds me, WTF are eVGA smoking because I want some!! Terrible designs!!!

Especially those fan blades with all the mini 'E' logos embossed on them. Absolutely atrocious! Good job that's hidden underneath at least (in majority of cases), but I've no idea how that got signed off?!

No joke first time I saw the card I thought that was a watermark on the image... sadly it wasnt lol! Has anyone seen any more pre-blocked cards to come out? EVGA managed to show a picture of one but curious to know what they are pricing as for the 2080ti.

Once I buy the block/backplate if its close on cost etc, the blocks are pretty steep also (thanks EK) so its about £350 on top of the already sizeable cost I paid for 2 Dukies.

Interesting the evga cards on some images show 3 fans but on the ocuk site show only 2.
