Hey guys..

Just finished installing BF5 on a new wiped and fresh install of Windows 10.

I have the game set on 1440p @ High settings. And tbh im not impressed with the results..

im averaging around 90-100 FPS on 64 man conquest..and the stutter, lag and frame drops is bad, real bad!

also my 1800X peaked at a reasonable 69. But the GPU throttled at its max of 84c. Now granted its cooking in my house atm, but still..

So I think a custom fan curve is needed for the gpu..and im dreading to say it, but would a G-Sync monitor help with the issues of the FPS??

If anyone can give me some info that would be great.

I have 2 rigs with RTX. The one with the RTX 2080 kept stuttering lots. I applied the geforce experience profile with the RTX on and now its smooth ! I also used DDU and installed new drivers fresh.

did you use the slider, for example changed from quality to performance??

Quick update guys..Something is amiss.

Played a few games of CS GO there, and every so often the game would freeze for about half-to one second then resume..WTF!

I have put a custom fan curve on the card..CPU maxed at 52c - and the GPU at 43c!

Think I might be needing a G-SYNC monitor for these drops?? if so I will not be happy as i just dropped a lot on this monitor I have atm!:mad:

Gsync will not get rid of these stutters. Did you try a different GPU with this system? Because it sounds like throttling, either of the GPU or the CPU. Try monitoring frequency in the OSD with a program like MSI Afterburner.

Can it still be throttling if the CPU and GPU temps are way way low? its hardly putting a strain on them this game, but i did come across this, which I will try tomorrow

Also I have it installed on a standard 2tb HD, mabye shifting to my boot SSD (as its only like 8-9gb) might help things along??

Just to be sure, have you set windows 10 system to "performance" and not "balanced"? I have heard that these settings can cause performance loss in some games.

I have it set on "balanced" but doesn't the clock speed remain at full on the CPU if on "performance"??

Back again guys!

Just installed Far Cry 5 to test out my GPU!..two things..

1. My FPS is only around the 80-90 in game, and stutters when they drop even as little as 5-7fps at a time!
2. Checked AfterBurner and my maxed out :

GPU temp : 64c
GPU usage :68%
CPU temp : 59c

IS my 1800X holding things back here? And im now realy tempted to get a G-Sync monitor! Can someone confirm the "little" stutters will be ironed out with G-Sync??
