Hi all.

After rebooting my machine today there was a short lived graphics glitch (odd colours across the screen) followed by booting into Windows limited to 1024x768 and Device Manager reporting that it has stopped the card because it has reported problems (Code 43).

What I've done so far to no avail:

DDU'd in Safe Mode and reinstalled latest drivers. This causes the same graphical glitch when the drivers would normally pick up the monitor native res and the process just ends with no error message and no change.

Moved the DP to a different port
Moved the card to a different slot
Changed the power connectors

When moving the card it did seem quite hot on the backplate, although I have nothing to compare it to. HWinfo reports 47c with the fans at 20% and the card doing nothing but displaying a low res desktop.

Is there anything obvious I'm missing or is it broken?

HDMI is no different. I will try a different display later when I can attack it properly. I will also try the 1060 from my other PC.

Yeah, kind of what I was thinking tbh. I guess I will find out how my 1060 handles Flight Sim until I can get hold of a 4000 series...

have you gone through device manager to sdee if it shows there and if so tried installing from a driver on disk, you know before you totally ruin it in the ovrn

One of the reasons I never tried for a s/h 2080 Ti, too many space invader problems for my liking.

What is the oven trick?

You basically strip the card down to its board level, stick it in the oven (there are YT guides) and bake until crispy, in the hope that the problem was broken solder joints, and heating them up to reflow them will fix the card.

If the problem wasn't broken solder joints, then your goose is cooked anyway.
