20cm Width Mobo?

Hi Guys.

I was planning on building a HTPC without using an actual PC case, purely to make it a bit more creative and make me feel I've actually achieved something.

However I just hit a big issue :( I was about to order the parts I wanted, when I figured I better check dimensions first, I'm completely new to the SFF world and haven't built a pc for about 3 years lol :D

I wanted to buy the 780G, so googled the dimensions, it came up: 24.4cm Long - 24.4cm Wide. So off I trot to measure the case. Unfortunately I only have room for 20cm width, and even that's a tight fit.

Are there any mobo's powerful (and cheap) enough to play blu-rays, etc, or am I forced to give up and buy a proper case liek everyone else?

Thanks in advance.

The only options you have is either mATX or ITX.

ITX Is limited in power, can be expensive, but it is very small, usually only has 1 PCI and 1 RAM slot. Probably isnt suitable for what you need it for, im sure others could advise better.

Thanks for quick replies fellas.

The Zotac 9300 was in the running along with the 780G, I just wanted less power consumption.

However as far as I can tell it has the same dimensions as the 780g, which is 4cm too wide =/ I can't go over 20cm width. Unless I'm being lied to by the internet when I look for dimensions...I'm kinda stuck unless I can find a smaller board with the same capabilties =/

Yeah I just found it..I must have been lookin at some dodgy links from google.

Awesome, that's one hurdle cleared, hopefully not many more to go :D

Thanks for your help guys.
