I'm on 20meg Virgin Media but the wireless around the house isn't the greatest. What homeplug speed would you recommend to make the most use of the connection?

Scenario: cable comes in on ground floor (alongside TV), we want the homeplug connection to extend to one point on the first floor and another on the second floor. Three plugs needed in total..but what speed?#

Are these well received: Competitor Vesenet HomePlug 3 x Ethernet Adapter

In terms of managing the connections, should it be like this:

VM Cable > Router > Homeplug (in) > Homeplug (out, x2)

The problem with a g-class wireless devise is that it'd need to be at full signal strength to not limit 20mbit internet. Though I guess that generally won't be a problem for long with the STM :p

I use the competitor plugs in an identical set up to the way you describe. One from the router and then two more. One to a 360 the other to my pc. I use the 85mb ones and my house had brand new wiring and have not noticed any slow down when gaming. In fact they have been faultless and my speeds are spot on.

With speeds of cable getting faster and faster I'd go for the 200mb ones if I was buying now because even though the 85's say 85mb you wont in reality get near that.

The 3 port ones where not around when I bought mine and now i've seen them I will probably buy one to free up another plug socket as its not recommended to plug homeplugs into an extension cord.

I have the netgear 200Mbit ones , they are currently lying in the cupboard
The speed was terrible most of the time , tried different points about the house to no avail.
The whole 200Mbit must be measured by placing the units on the same 4 way strip adapter
and placing it inside a farady cage!
I use a wire cable now
