hi,

i love the imacs and was just wondering if apple may introduce a 21.5inch display with hdmi perhaps this year, seems a popular size for new monitors. i think it would be a great screen, cannot be long before they refresh the product lines surely.

Nobody knows! I do think it's odd apple have basically abandoned their monitor product line aside from the 24" which is heavily laptop focused. I can kind of see why as the old cinema displays were as expensive as the very high end Lacie and Eizo screens but didn't have the performance to go with it and hence weren't terribly popular with creative pros.

It would make sense in some ways but I don't really expect them to release anything new...

really think it would sell well, obviously itd be cheaper than the 23-24 inch ones but same res, come on apple no one else has a silver led monitor you'd own it ;)

Exceedingly unlikely. They do iMac's with built in screens and the 24" Cinema for everything else. The cinema even comes with a Magsafe to power your Apple laptop.

There's no Apple computers that use HDMI, so that's very unlikely. They've standardised on mini displayport across the range.

you can use the 27" imac as a standard monitor using a cable obtain from the apple store, but I don't think its HDMI; and more likely to be DVI only from what I've seen.
