Hey guys, Just upgraded my rig with i7 7700k and 1080ti, now I'm after a good monitor to support this setup. What could you guys suggest? Both aspect ratios look really gretat I'm loving the 4k sharpness and could do with 60fps on g sync as the drops are not that much noticable. On the other hand 21:9 just closes you in the game and its able to take advantage out of 100hz.. Really stuck on this one, I seen 4K Predator 32" and Predator 34" 21:9 1440p and both look great.

For me, that's an easy one owning an X34, and while I appreciate the extra pixels and sharpness you get with 4K, I wouldn't want to lose the immersion of 21:9. The difference in width is nearly 20cm between the 32" 16:9 and 34" 21:9, so that's quite significant. Of course, it all depends what you value the most... for some people that sharpness is the most important factor. Only you can answer that.

Personally, I would want at least 40" before I jumped to 4K... and to be honest, even though the 1080Ti is a stonking card, 4K still demands a lot from it. At 3440x1440 though, you're going to get much more longevity out of it.

There is no contest here.. 21:9 100hz without a doubt. 3 reasons. More immersive than 16:9(this is of course a bit subjective on my part but i think most people would agree), higher refresh rate, easier to power 3440x1440 than 3840x2160.

It very easy for me as after I owned my first high refresh rate monitor I never want to go back to only a 60hz monitor for gaming...;)

It funny how gamers put up with only 60hz on LCD monitors these days as even 20 years ago back in 1997 my first 17" CRT monitor did 85hz

I remember my sammy crt at 60hz would give me serious headaches. I had to have it above 80 or so. Also it would do something like 1920x1440 or some stupid resolution like that over VGA even though it wasnt part of its spec sheet. CRTs was great at everything including eye cancer but who cared :P

I researched the same thing pretty much, ended up going with an X34a, Ultrawide is such an amazing experience, possibly one of the best gaming related purchases I've ever made.

Doubtful prices will drop until we see their specs improve dramatically... a proliferation of 38" G-Sync variants and/or HDR... but that's wayyyy off.

21:9 is amazing for gaming and movies if space isn't an issue. 4k looks really sweet but very taxing on your system imo

Ascended to an AOC Agon AG352UCG 35" gsync ultrawide that I've been gaming on for the last week. Came from the original Rog Swift and wouldn't go back to it now if you paid me lol.

The immersion aspect really is captivating specially when raiding with my guild (WoW) and the colours are gorgeous. The size is immense and pleasantly surprising whenever I enter my man cave.:D

Best

I've been looking at this monitor but heard it suffers from ghosting and black crush? Have you tried any faster paced games like an fps at all?

I'm on BF1 non-stop - no real issues with ghosting or black crush; you've got to try really hard to find them.

4k is way more demanding. thats the main issue with a comparison like this.

The 21:9 100hz can creep down to 60hz, still feel good. the 4k is ******.
