21:9 vs 16:9 differences listed

hdmi only supports 1920x1080 ~ 60hz

these are 2560x1080

That's true but they support up-scaling, at least I believe the LG 29EA93-P does (it has MHL support, phones can output at 1080p and they seem to work fine with it).
 
Well because you can see the white glow on a 16:9 monitor at the sides and 21:9 is much wider so it is going to be even more noticable.
 
I would like to see a 21:10 or something monitor with 1600 vertical resolution.

can that even work? because i was thinking the same thing. Failing that more resolution, so something like 2560 x 1700 @ 32" so it can be the same if not better DPI but at least as tall as a 25" monitor



Ok i just realized that the google pixel book is 3:2 and 2560 x 1700, and the retina is 2560 x 1800 and 16:10 i think?
