is it worth replacing the 2180 @ 3ghz yet?

Unless your seeing a slowdown somewhere I wouldn't bother, if you game your better off with a GPU upgrade.

yer thinking of getting new gpu after xmas (new cards comming ???) so would my cpu be holding me back by then?

I've got a e2180 at 3.3ghz with 6gb of RAM and a 4850. The CPU going from 3ghz to 3.3 gave me an extra 2000 or so points in 3dmark06 but in games it was only 1-2 fps faster. Changing from an 8800gt would see more improvement i'd have thought. Then when more CPU demanding games come out you can upgrade the CPU which might give your GFX card a little boost too.

Not that much at 3ghz, but as I said, for a quick boost in PC speeds (for a gamer) I'd take the route of a GPU upgrade, a 260 or something.

4850 is the best bang for buck.
