Hi, I understand budget monitors may not be this forum's niche, but I'm looking to get my nephew something for his surface book 2. He'd use it mainly for his work, fortnite, netflix and possibly will look to connect an xbox up to it if needed.
I know TN panels are normally seen as the better choice for gaming due to their lower response, but I question how good he is at that damn game for it to matter, plus the surface only has a gtx1060 in it, which I'm sure throttles due to it's poor heat dissipation so I'm thinking a max res of 1080p for the monitor. I'm not even sure if 144hz is worth it or if the surfacebook can even output that. On the flipside, I'm thinking the IPS will look better for picture quality.
Any recommendations, somewhere between £100-£200, preferably close to the 150 mark?
Thanks in advance
