Hey

I need some help. Just got an Asus 22" monitor and to my dissapointment I have found my display to be blurry. The resolution is just too low. I can't got above 1280x1024 on my settings. Help?

Thanks

What is the model of the monitor? 1280x1024 is very low for a monitor that size.

Check that you have your display drivers installed.

The native resolution of the monitor will be higher than 1280x1080 and this will appear blurry. Whats the monitor running off, a pc? if so, what graphics card do you have?

There is probably nothing wrong with the monitor, just the way you have it set up at the moment!!

Forgot to mention! My GPU is a GTX460 and the I just need to change the settings. How can i change it to 1600x1280 if I don't get an option in the visual gettings. Can't go any higher that 1280x1080

In the nvidea control panel (right click on the desktop, it should appear in the drop down list), in there there should be an option to set it higher. Look in the monitos manual for its native resolution and set it to that.

Update your GTX 460 drivers?

Right click desktop > Screen resolution > Detect ( Your monitor might not have been detected properly and therefore it doesn't offer the correct resolution. )

Yea the native resolution is 1600x1280 but when I said that my monitor said out of range. That was using the custom resolution option.

I very much doubt that is the native resolution as it is very different to any other monitor I have ever seen.

I think you need to find out what the native resolution is before progressing further as I strongly suspect that you are wrong in your assumption above

I have Vista. When I right click the only two related things are Personalise and Nvidia control Panel. No option to detect resolution.

Spudgun: Panel: 22' Wide Response Time: 2ms (GTG) Brightness (Max.): 330cd/m2 Contrast Ratio (Max.): 800:1 Viewing Angle (H/V): 160/160 Max. Resolution: WSXGA+ 1680*1050 Pixel Pitch: 0.282mm Display Color: 16.2M

Search through Personalise/Control panel until you find your display options and click detect. It may work. I am pretty sure Vista has this feature.

The GPU drivers are up to date however there just isin't an option to detect it. It is connected using a blue VGA cable. Not faulty as was used with a smaller monitor and worked fine.

I think you will find that the default resolution of your monitor is actually 1680x1050.

The model you mention (Asus MW211U) is certainly not a new model, and was originally launched late in 2007.

It is the graphics card chip manufacturers, in your case Nvidia who publish the drivers, not Asus, and the latest WHQL certified ones are ver: 266.58 which were released last month, and can be downloaded from www.nvidia.com, if you haven't already done so.

Once you have installed these you should then be able to select 1680 x 1050 from the Nvidia Control panel.

Hope this helps.

I have this screen, can confirm it is 1680*1050

TRy removing the driver completley, then downloading a fresh one, the card should auto detect it...
