Hey guys.

I'm thinking of trading in my 19" LCD Sammy screen for a bigger, 22" LCD. I go play games. Only every now and then though. Mainly FPS and car games. However I do watch a lot of movies/series ect. So would be good for that.

The screen is a 2ms as well, so gaming should be okay on it?

I can get it at a good price too, so not too sure if I should go for it or not..?

what 19" model do you have at the mo? The 22" Samsung models like the SM226BW and SM2232BW will certainly be fine in terms of responsivenss. Viewing angles are going to be quite restrictive since they are TN Film based, but if your current model is also TN Film, and you find that fine, then you should be ok :)

yep, both are TN Film anyway, so as long as you dont find viewing angles too bad on your 932BF then you should be fine with the viewing angles on the SM226BW :)

Well, it isn't the best, no. However I just tilt the screen and it's okay. Is the SM226BW any good though..gaming wise? and is the 3000:1 ratio good, or just markting crap?

Thank you Baddass. Hey the LG1780U you recomended me a few years ago is still going strong, still love it. :D

happy to hear it :) that was a lovely screen....

The SM226BW is a very good model, highly regarded in terms of responsiveness / gaming. Behardware use it as a reference point commonly in their 22" model reviews (example here) and Xbit labs also thought highly of it. It's one of the better gaming 22" models, so would be a good choice.

Dynamic contrast ratios like that re a bit of a gimmick really imo. Yes, it can help improve contrast ont he fly, but is only really of any use sometimes in movies / films. in games and office use, it tends to be annoying. Having said that, the black depth and static contrast of the SM226BW is very good for a TN Film panel, so that's a positive.
