I currently have the dell 2209wa ips monitor, it's great love the colours love the viewing angles, slight ghosting while gaming. but I am missing the full HD resolution so I've decided on a 24" 1080p.

problem is I only have up to £200, unless there is something really good for just over. I did consider the dell 23" ips but I don't think 1 extra inch is worth an upgrade so I'd prefer 24.

I understand I'd have to take a hit to the quality, but which one would be less noticeable? I hear benq ew2430 va is out soon, anyone know how soon? I looked at dell's website at the p2411h led, is this good enough TN screen? I did like the stand with the dell monitors.

Its mostly for games & movies.
thanks.

I've also accidently already given my monitor to my parents so I can't sell that on to fund a new one unfortunately.edit

ok yes i will order that one tomorrow.
I read that some people have had problems with dodgy panels last year, do these problems still exsist in 2011? what are the chances of reciving an inadequate one?

Ive ordered the ew2420 benq, looking forward to full hd, thanks for the aid. I will let you know my opinions coming from an ips when it arrives.

input lag is noticable compared to the old dell monitor, and a little inconsistent with the colours. But it doesn't really bother me i can get used to it, can't really complain for the price.
For my next monitor though i will save up a bit more to go back to ips screen.

I'm having pretty much the same thoughts - have a 2209wa. Monitor is fantastic, but feeling a little limited by the resolution.
The dell U2410 is a bit steep in price; is there any other 24" ips panel ~ £220 similar price to what the 2209wa was on launch?

You are limited to the 23" u2311h at around £220, I think the cheapest 24" IPS would be the HP ZR24W which is around £320 ish. There is a 24" BenQ VA panel which is mentioned above, might be worth a look at £180ish?, although I think it is a bit hit and miss.
