I have finally decided to buy a 22 WS(Samsung Pebble)but I am a little bit worried about the performance loss I will have coming from a 19" normal and gaming at 1280*1024(specs in sig).So what are we talking about here, maybe a 20%-30% performance loss in framerates?Or is it worse?

The res is 34.6% higher, so expect roughly that framerate drop (assuming the game in question isn't CPU limited).

my system is identical to yours and I can max everything out at good fps, except crysis which i can run at high/veryhigh settings with a good fps, so its nothing to worry about.

Your graphics card probaly won't notice the difference. Some would argue your old monitor never got the best out of your GTX.

I think you'll be ok ;)

A GTX should be able to handle 1680 x 1050 no problem for all but the latest games (and by that I mean Crysis which you would need to turn down to high or very high - which stil looks beautiful). IMO, any game released up till now apart from Crysis should be good on a GTX.

Lol your've been using a 8800GTX for running games at a silly 1280x1024 res? ........... what a waste

That card can run anything totally smooth at 1920x1200, bar crysis. Atleast now you're actually making some use of the card.

Congrats on the 226BW starmanwarz. It is a beaut :) It is indeed 'great' to move to a higher res, just wait till you see how big the screen looks compared to your old res, and how much nicer the games feel. It is awesome.

@ Herojuana: The 8800 GT is a very good choice for high res as its performance nearly matches the GTX (I would say that at higher levels of AA and AF it falls slightly behind the GTX).

Just did it! knew I was missing out, everything looks incredible :) Using a HP w2207h btw.

Have the same monitor - best thing I ever bought for my computer. Couldn't believe how much more immersive games were when compared to my old 17" TFT.
